This policy explains what ToolsMaestro.com collects when you visit, why we collect it, who else can see it, and what control you have. It applies to this website only. It does not cover the retailers, manufacturers, or other third-party sites we link to, each of which has its own policy.
Last reviewed: August 2026.
Who We Are
ToolsMaestro.com publishes research and reviews covering power tools and compressed air equipment. We do not sell products, take orders, or process payments. For anything relating to this policy, write to [email protected].
Information We Collect
Information you give us
If you email us, submit a contact or correction form, or leave a comment where comments are open, we receive whatever you choose to send: your name, your email address, and the content of your message. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of corrections. We do not need and do not want sensitive personal information, so please do not send it.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers keep access logs. These record your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you request, the time of each request, and the referring page if there is one. Logs exist to keep the site running, to diagnose faults, and to identify abusive traffic such as scraping and brute force attempts.
Analytics
We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which pages are read, which categories are useful, and where readers arrive from. This is aggregate reporting about traffic patterns. We do not build advertising profiles of individual readers, and we do not sell reader data.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies and comparable storage may be set by this site and by third parties whose services appear on it. What each type does, and how to switch them off, is set out in our Cookie Policy.
Affiliate tracking
When you click a link to a retailer, an affiliate identifier travels with you so the retailer can attribute any resulting purchase to this site. We receive aggregate reporting on clicks and on orders that qualify. We are not told your name, your address, your payment details, or the identity of the buyer. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how that arrangement works.
How We Use Information
- To deliver pages and keep the site available and secure
- To answer messages and process corrections
- To understand which content is worth expanding or retiring
- To detect, investigate, and block abuse, fraud, and attacks
- To measure the performance of outbound affiliate links in aggregate
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for anything of value. We do disclose limited information to service providers who need it to do their jobs:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers, who process server logs in order to serve the site
- Content delivery and security providers, who filter malicious traffic
- Analytics providers, who receive traffic measurements
- Affiliate networks and retailers, who receive the click referral described above
- Email providers, who transmit and store correspondence you send us
We may also disclose information when required by law, valid legal process, or a government request, when necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property or that of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy would continue to apply to information transferred.
Third-Party Sites
Outbound links take you to sites we do not control. Once you leave, this policy stops applying and theirs begins. Retailers in particular will collect far more about you than we do, including payment and delivery information. Read their policies before you buy.
How Long We Keep Information
Server logs are retained for a limited operational period and then discarded or aggregated. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form. Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for the correction record, and longer only where a legal obligation requires it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, access to administrative systems is restricted, and software is kept current. No method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, and you send us information at your own risk.
Children
This site is intended for an adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
Your Choices
- Cookies. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the steps.
- Analytics. Browser settings and privacy extensions can block analytics scripts. The site works without them.
- Email. Stop writing to us and there is nothing further to process. Ask us to delete correspondence and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
- Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal where your browser sends one, and we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. Because browser Do Not Track headers are inconsistently defined, we do not respond to them separately.
Rights of California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, California residents may request to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about them, the sources of that information, the purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties it is disclosed to. Residents may also request deletion or correction of that information, and may opt out of any sale or sharing of it.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of anyone under 16. Exercising these rights will not result in discriminatory treatment, since the site is free to read either way.
To make a request, write to [email protected] with enough detail for us to locate your information. We will verify your request by replying to the email address on record before acting on it. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission.
Rights of Other State Residents
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comparable privacy laws have similar rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling. The same email address handles those requests, and where a state law provides an appeal process, you may appeal a refusal by replying to our decision. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.
Nevada Residents
Nevada residents may submit a request directing us not to sell covered personal information. We do not sell it, but requests are recorded at the address above.
Where Information Is Processed
This site is operated for a United States audience, and information is processed on servers that may be located in the United States or in other countries where our providers operate. Data protection law in those countries may differ from the law where you live. By using the site you understand that your information may be processed in those locations.
Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when our practices or the law changes. The revised version takes effect when posted, and the review date at the top of the page will change. Material changes will be noted on the page itself.
